A tribute to the year Louis XIV gave his apothecary Pierre Frapin the right to bear a coat of arms.
Spice-lashed rum, boozy dried fruit and a floral bouquet soaked in a rich wood, amber and leather base disclose the secret accord between the perfumes you drink and those you wear…
An elixir as burning as a kiss - and just as intoxicating - composed by Bertrand Duchaufour.

From the initial shot of mouth-burning, spicy rum to the boozy, dried fruit accords of davana and cabreuva, 1697 is a headlong dive into the aromas of cognac, from top to base notes.
Along the way, the fragrance spills into an opulent floral bouquet built around rose and jasmine sambac. The woody, tannic and ambery accords of liquor aged in oak casks, suffuse 1697 with vanillic aromas. The leather and tobacco effects of cistus, the subtle almond and chocolate accents of tonka bean softened by a drop of sweet condensed milk and a warm patchouli base are wrapped in a sensuous musk for a long-lasting sillage.

Main notes:
Cinnamon, Dried Fruits, Rose Essence Tonka Bean, Patchouli
