Acqua Shiso Hydrating Gel Cream

Shiso (Perilla frutescens): Shiso, also known as Japanese mint, is a plant rich in polyphenols (particularly rosmarinic acid) and triterpenoids (particularly ursolic acid). Zelens uses an extract obtained from shiso leaf which demonstrates excellent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-allergic properties. Shiso leaf has been used for years in Kampo medicine due to its strong detox properties and ability to prevent skin reactivity and soothe sensitive skin.

Hyaluronic Acid: A low molecular weight hyaluronic acid with multiple activities: improves skin moisture, strengthens barrier function, helps to retain and maintain skin elasticity, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and restores skin suppleness.

Glycerin: A vegetable-derived molecule naturally present in the skin. Acts an excellent humectant, a substance that attracts moisture from the environment and increases the amount of water in the surface layers of the skin.

Plant-derived ester: A 100% plant-derived ester originating from sweet almond oil. Possesses excellent skin conditioning, emollient and protective properties.

Glycosaminoglycans: Polysaccharides naturally present in the skin as major components of the extracellular matrix. Exhibit excellent moisturising and skin regenerating properties. Support the collagen network by inhibiting matrix metalloproteinase (MMP), enzymes responsible for collagen degradation. Increases skin resistance to physical damage and enhances skin barrier function. Clinical studies have shown that glycosaminoglycans reduce the appearance of dark circles, rosacea and skin redness.

Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis): A juice obtained from the leaf of aloe. Shows multiple properties: moisturising, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant, soothing and wound healing.

Plant sugars: Plant-derived sugar molecules with humectant properties. Help to limit water loss and retain moisture in the skin. Promote natural production of hyaluronic acid to help reduce visible signs of aging.  

Yeast: A filtrate of the lysate (the solution consisting of the material released from cell lysis - cellular disruption) obtained by the fermentation of yeast (Saccharomyces). Rich in amino acids, essential minerals, beta-glucan and vitamins. Possesses anti-inflammatory, revitalising and protective properties. Increases cell respiration and metabolism, stimulates oxygen consumption and enhances skin repair.

Silanols: Derivates of organic silicium. Show excellent restructuring and regenerating properties. Help to ensure optimal skin architecture by stimulating collagen production and enhancing cellular communication between keratinocytes and fibroblasts.

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis): An extract from the leaf of rosemary. Demonstrates strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties.
